Based on the current schedule, and barring any irregularities (instances in regular play where more or fewer than two new players debut), we'll see 430 new players on the show this season. That's based on two challengers in each of 200 regular games, and 15-player fields in both the College Championship and Teachers Tournament. The count doesn't include either Shadi Peterman (the defending champion in the season opener) or the Tournament of Champions participants, as they first appeared on the show prior to this season.
Where you watch the show north of the border is based not necessarily on geography, but more on cable provider. For example, on Cape Breton Island, I watched on both WBZ (CBS Boston) and WDIV (NBC Detroit). But I'm going to keep track of Canadian players by their home Designated Market Areas as well.
(And yes, I did actually look at television schedules from every market, after discovering that in many cases, the show's own "where to watch" page is giving outdated information. Hat tip to Zap2it and TitanTV for making that possible.)
